What Is Journey to Christmas About?
Cali Caldwell is the new face of Emerald Glam, and she is scheduled to be introduced by the brand on December 23. Although her agent wants her to take a direct flight to Los Angeles to arrive in plenty of time for the event, Cali insists on driving across the country so she can make charitable stops along the way.
Jack Swanson owns a limousine company, and since he's given most of his staff time off at Christmas to be with their families, he assigns himself the job of driving Cali.
When a winter storm hits, the two have no choice but to halt their journey until the roads are cleared, and the closest place they can lodge is Jack's family home.
Cali isn't the diva Jack expects her to be, and Jack soon means more to Cali than merely her driver.
The movie's tension centers around Talia--Jack's ex-fiancé who left him for another man but now wants him back. Although it has taken Jack a long time to heal from her betrayal, he has no interest in rekindling their romance, but Cali thinks otherwise.
There Is Nothing Redeemable About Journey to Christmas
The acting in this movie is horrible, and it's no surprise. Tsai's and Heyworth's list of acting credits is shorter than Buddy the Elf's Papa.
Tsai and Heyworth merely recite lines rather than act. Both characters are one-dimensional and flatter than Flat Stanley.
Because the acting is so sub-par, it poisons everything else, not that the script was salvageable anyway.
Cali, a model, is actually going to sit around eating s'mores, fries, hot dogs, and pancakes?
Cali donates the coats she has modeled to the women's shelter, but do you see anyone in those scenes who would actually FIT into them?
Details, details!
There is no chemistry between the leads, and the entire story feels unnatural and rushed to a forced happy ending.

You Win Some, You Lose Some
Every network playing Christmas movies on a loop has its share of duds each year, so Journey to Christmas is par for the course. It's the "B" side of other great hits GAF has premiered in 2023, and the occasional bomb is to be expected.
Let's just hope Tsai and Heyworth will not appear again in future GAF movies because they clearly do not have the talent it takes to render a performance that is worthy of our time.
When does it start showing on GAF?
