Great American Family Fans Reach Out on Social Media for Answers
Everyone is loving Great American Family (GAF) for its focus on faith, family, and country, but since many people are just discovering the network (it launched in September 2021), they are bombarding social media with the same, repetitive questions.

GAF's Facebook page is very responsive to inquiries, but neither their website nor their social media platforms list answers to the most commonly asked questions. The network encourages viewers to contact them with feedback via an online form, but rarely does anyone receive a response after submitting the form.

How Can I Watch Great American Family?
GAF's website has a wonderful Channel Finder tool that will identify the providers and channels for your local area.
Simply enter your zip code into the channel finder to generate the list to view your options.
You can also text WINTER to 877-999-1225 to find Great American Family.
Why Doesn't My Provider Carry Great American Family?
Great American Family offers their channel to providers at practically no cost. It's up to individual providers to add the channel to their offerings.
Although GAF requests that providers make the channel available on their lowest tiers, many choose to include it in higher tiers and charge you more to be able to access it. This can be a financial burden for many.
If your provider doesn't offer GAF or includes it on a higher and more expensive tier, be sure to contact them to voice your desire for the channel and to let them know you need it on the lowest tier. If enough people continue to apply pressure, maybe providers will relent.
Many turn to Frndly TV for about $6.99 per month--the cheapest streaming option that includes GAF.

Why Doesn't Great American Family Show More Movies?
Many fans are anxious for movies, movies, and more movies and express disappointment that daytime programming is consumed with reruns of old shows that already have been played to death on other networks.
Airing original content is expensive. Even established networks, like Hallmark, continue to play syndicated programs because buying the rights to old shows and using them to fill time slots is much less expensive. It's unrealistic to expect GAF to play movies 24/7.
As more people move to cheaper streaming options, networks struggle even more to build original content and secure enough advertising to meet budgetary demands.
When GAF launched in 2021, movies were only shown on weekends. The network now plays two movies each weeknight and several on weekends, including a Christmas movie every Friday night.

GAF is still growing and creating a library of content. If we are patient, we will undoubtedly love what the network has in store.
Does Great American Family Have an App?
Great American Family does not have an app, but they are well aware that fans want one--it's something many have been requesting. The suggestion has been forwarded to the leadership team.
In the meantime, GAF does offer a different kind of app called Great American Community. Here's a description of the app, per GAF's website:
Great American Community is a free, direct-to-consumer streaming app featuring short-form original series hosted by well-known experts at the top of their fields, including cooking, fashion, lifestyle, gardening, pets, parenting, DIY, relationship, philanthropy, fitness, and devotions, among others. Headlining each series are acclaimed TV hosts, presenters, and beloved actors......Great American Community series are exclusive to the platform and feature fresh advice and inspirational stories from each host.... Each episode will focus on seasonal themes, celebrations, and everyday moments, with new episodes premiering all year long.
Why Are Some of the Commercials on Great American Family NOT Family-Friendly?
Since GAF promotes itself for being a family-friendly network, many viewers voice their upset over commercials featuring LGBTQ content, psychic readings, abortion, or other objectionable topics.
When asked why this happens, GAF responded with this explanation:
"Similar to all other cable networks, your provider sells a portion of Great American Family’s hourly ad time. We don’t control this process and do not benefit from these advertisements which run on our channel. We kindly suggest you reach out to your provider with any feedback or concerns."
Many viewers suspect that advertisers use cable companies to specifically target conservative audiences with their left-wing propaganda. Who knows? When possible, it's best to DVR the movies and fast-forward through the commercials.
Can I Watch Great American Family in Canada (or Other Countries)?
Great American Family is not currently available internationally, though they hope to be in the future.
CTV Drama Channel and Super Channel Heart & Home have carried some GAF movies in Canada. Conservative Canadian viewers have commented on social media that they don't know in advance which rom-coms are GAF and which ones are Hallmark, which means they can't always filter unwanted "surprises."

How to Reach Great American Family with Your Questions and Comments
GAF fan groups on social media platforms are experiencing explosive growth as more and more viewers tune into this wonderful, family-friendly station and want to engage in discussions with other fans. As a result, they assume when they post comments or ask questions that someone from GAF will see their opinion, respond, or use the feedback to make changes at the network. This is usually NOT the case.
One question often posed in Facebook groups is "Will you offer a new mystery series?" or "Will you have a program similar to Home & Family?" No answers have been forthcoming from GAF on this front. In the meantime, GAF has brought back old mystery shows to fill the gap, like Murder She Wrote and Columbo, but these aren't the mysteries fans are craving.
Great American Family loves to hear from viewers with your honest feedback, but you have to make sure you're sending your comments where they will be seen by the right people.

I have truly enjoyed watching this channel and all of its various holiday movies and programming! I'm mostly confined to bed and between my work on the computer, I capitalize on the wholesome diversion that GAFC gives me, especially from my pain. Thank you for providing this!
