If Violet wants the job of her dreams, she must pass her last college class while the window of opportunity remains open. Her professor promises to give her a passing grade and a recommendation if she can do what seems impossible: use music therapy to make a patient speak by Valentine's Day. Jessica Lowndes Wrote the Script
Jessica Lowndes is a familiar face at Hallmark, but she is one of several actors to sign a contract with GAC Family, though her agreement is non-exclusive, meaning she is still allowed to star in movies on other networks.
Lowndes not only commits to starring in four GAC movies, but she is also given more creative rein to write, executive produce, and direct at the network. Harmony from the Heart is her "baby" because she conceived the concept, spent time growing the script, and then brought it to fruition with her vocal and acting talents.
Lowndes & Metcalfe Are Both Singers
In addition to being an actress, Lowndes is an aspiring singer who has written at least four original songs. She has the voice of an angel, and viewers are treated to several instances of her singing through Harmony from the Heart. Hallmark fans may also remember her vocal capabilities from Hallmark's 2018 movie, Christmas at Pemberley Manor where she stars opposite Michael Rady.
Jesse Metcalfe is also a musician, and his most memorable role showcasing his vocals is Hallmark's A Country Wedding in 2015 where he co-stars with Autumn Reeser and woos viewers with his rendition of A Cowboy Rides Away.
Other Hallmark stars you'll see in Harmony from the Heart besides Lowndes and Metcalfe include Jesse Moss, Susan Hogan, Christie Burke, Sarah Surh, Michael St. John Smith, and Donna Benedicto.
Finally, Something Original!
Harmony from the Heart is a game changer. It's a unique story about the power of music to help people heal. Charles Carver's health condition renders him unable to speak. His wife hopes to hear him say, "I love you" by Valentine's Day, since it also marks their 50th anniversary.
Did you know that music therapy is a credentialed profession? While it doesn't help everyone, there is ample research proving it can promote physical rehabilitation stemming from a variety of issues.
In the movie, we watch how muscle memory helps Charles move his hands and play the saxophone again, and familiar and favorite song lyrics help him find his voice.
Harmony from the Heart is an inspiring movie with heart and one of the best GAC Family has produced to date during the infancy stages of the network. We can surely anticipate more movies of this caliber in the future.
