A Miracle for Daisy Plot Summary
An interior designer is happy to land a job decorating a house she has always admired in her hometown, especially since it would boost her company's exposure. When she learns the home belongs to her ex-boyfriend and his daughter, she is less than enthused.
Starring: Jill Wagner and Nick Bateman
My rating: A-
Jill Wagner Delivers
Jill Wagner is a pro, and she can be paired with anyone and still generate plenty of onscreen chemistry. She's a little ornery, too, which adds to the fun, upbeat movie vibe.
Terrence Kelly plays Kris Kringles, who seems to be a hired Santa for the holidays yet who possesses enough magic to make you think he might just be the real deal.
Hallmark fans will be thrilled to see Andrew Francis in this one, and his role is very much the boy-next-door. Eric has been crazy about Whitney's business partner, Andi, for many years and has asked her out countless times. Despite being sweet and thoughtful, Andi keeps rejecting him. When Conner advises Eric to stop acting interested in Andi, she realizes how much she misses his attention and experiences a change of heart.
Daisy is a happy and lovely girl who just wants a mom for Christmas so she can have a family. It doesn't get much more adorable than that.
Nick Bateman Is Dull
Nick Bateman isn't leading man material. He's bland all the way around and has zero charisma, even though Wagner does her best to make him shine.
In GAC's haste to roll out movies during the 2021 Christmas season, they seem to have cut corners by following another Hallmark template instead of producing something uniquely branded. This movie echoes Hallmark's Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses, which also stars Wagner as an interior designer who falls for the homeowner.
The plot involves Whitney overhearing a conversation of Conner's that wrongly leads her to assume he's leaving town--the usual misunderstanding that must be sorted out and resolved. Nothing new here.
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy Is the Quintessential Holiday Movie
Despite borrowing several Hallmark tropes, this movie has the magic of Santa, fun in the snow, humor, and a little girl's wish coming true. You won't want to miss it!
